Current Landmarks

The City of Monrovia designated its first local landmark on June 4, 1996, naming the home at 231 N. Primrose Avenue as Historic Landmark #1.  Currently there have been a total of 159 such designations, all of them for structures except Historic Landmark #36 which was given to the Boxx Jewelers' street clock on Myrtle Avenue and the Farmers Club drinking fountain in Library Park (Historic Landmark #159).  The oldest structure in Monrovia still standing is HL #82, the C.O. Monroe house, located at 225 Monroe Place.  It was built in 1884.

The data contained herein has been reviewed for accuracy and every effort has been made to insure that the information is correct.  If  you believe any of the data to be inaccurate or if you have knowledge of missing information use the Contact Us feature at the left to notify MOHPG.  MOHPG hopes this table will be of value to the community. We have provided photo galleries arranged by architectural style (click on a thumbnail below to start browsing)  and a spreadsheet in PDF form that can be viewed/downloaded.
