Benefits of Membership

The mission of the Monrovia Historic Preservation Group is as follows:  MOHPG is entrusted with Monrovia’s heritage through PRESERVATION, EDUCATION, and COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT. When you become a member:

  • You receive a membership packet including the current newsletter, magnet, and postcard.
  • Each month (except August) you will receive a newsletter with current information about the group and its activities.
  • You can attend monthly meetings covering a wide-ranging list of topics (meetings since September, 2009 – a visit to the home of the Monrovia Historical Museum’s curator to see his personal collection of artifacts, exploration of a Pasadena bookshop specializing in cookbooks,  the annual Christmas party, a presentation on the preservation and repair of vintage windows, gathering at the Monrovia Historical Museum as part of a black history month event, a joint presentation by the City of Monrovia and MOHPG on greening your home, and a return hike to the Carter cabin).
  • Members have access to MOHPG’s collection of  salvaged doors and windows at no charge.
  • Because MOHPG is a non-profit and service-oriented organization, members contribute their time and energy for the benefit of the community.
  • Members have access to the Resource Directory, a listing of businesses and craftsmen whose skills are in demand for homeowners restoring their vintage homes.  The only way to be included in the directory is by referral from an MOHPG member.  The current directory lists 145 businesses in 34 categories and can be found in the members only section of this website.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the Monrovia Historic Preservation Group, you can download the Membership Form if you wish to pay by check or go to the Online Store to pay with credit card.
